Rainy Days and Mondays

August 11th, 2008 by Bonnie

Well, nothing too much to report here. In the last few days I feel like I might have mistakenly moved to Seattle, as it has been very rainy! Apparently it has set some sort of record for rainfall in MA. Not to mention there was a tornado warning in central MA last week! We’ve still been just exploring and yesterday we went to the aquarium. I don’t feel as bad about going to the aquarium as I do to the zoo, especially this one because they are big on conservation, even in the exhibits. I got to see some of my favorites, penguins and seals, so I was happy. It was a lot different than I remember from going there when I was 9 - the jellyfish tank isn’t 100 feet tall.

Well…

July 31st, 2008 by Bonnie

I’m just not a true blogger. I never want to write. And sometimes when I do I instantly feel like it is too much personal info for me to put out there. Anyway, here’s the deal: I’m still going to do what I set out to do, update friends and family on what we’re up to. So each week I’ll post pics and a little blurb. We’ve made it to Boston and have even ridden the subway and walked 15 minutes to the grocery. We’re hardcore already :) Here are some pictures from the trip:

(sorry, we’ve currently got a not so reliable internet connection, so it’s hard to directly upload pictures)

Super Tuesdays: April Fools

April 1st, 2008 by Bonnie

Well, actually the joke is on me, thinking I would have some great idea to update with every Tuesday!

The truth is I am taking an A&P class on Tuesday nights after work and this week I have been cramming for my bone quiz. Here’s some advice, don’t try to learn all of the bones in one day (or two).

(and that isn’t all!)

It is almost surreal to think about all the different parts and processes that make up these bodies we walk around in everyday and often take for granted. The class has been interesting and oddly a little unnerving. Unnerving because of the constant teeter-totter of homeostasis-just keeping things running on an even keel, the thousands of things that can and do go wrong, and how fragile we humans really are.

But then again, there have been those that lived to 93 eating pork rinds every day.
C’est la vie!

Super Tuesdays: Lights Out!

March 25th, 2008 by Bonnie

TurnOFFyourLIGHTS!

I often find my intentions to do things that “make the world a better place” far exceed my actions.  Thus, Super Tuesdays are born! One small action or idea a week seems like a good goal to shoot for.

Earth Hour 2008 is about simple changes that will collectively make a difference in global emissions. This Saturday people from all over the world will be turning out their lights from 8-9pm. What could be easier? Check it out at http://www.earthhour.org/user/4B2h

I know Tuesday & Boo will be big supporters - they seem to think that when the lights go out it’s party time….. running, jumping, and basically spazing out. Looking forward to Earth Hour party time!

Look out world, I started a blog…

March 22nd, 2008 by Bonnie

With the prodding of my tech savvy husband and dear friend (who has an interesting blog!) I too, have joined the party.

Soon the Hugs will be embarking on our biggest adventure yet - moving to Boston! My main goal is to keep friends & family updated on the move and the exciting goings on that will hopefully ensue. And of course keep you on the edge of your seat with my stories of mystery, intrigue and the furry children’s latest escapades. Love to all!
